I feel I need to explain myself a little, as people are NOT understanding this stamp, even though I think it's pretty self-explanatory.
The word "gay" is thrown around far too often. It's used in hate and anger, and it shouldn't. "Gay" is NOT a swear word and shouldn't be used as such. It should NOT be used in derogatory terms and those who do it should be ashamed. The way Gay is used is exactly the way the N-word was used. These days people aren't allowed to use it, why? Because there was so much hate in using that word that it's turned into one of the foulest insults you can think of. Using "Gay" as an insult, to hurt, is ridiculous and stupid. Doesn't make you look smart, makes you look like an idiot.
Saying you're gay, bi or lesbian so you're allowed to use it is just as ridiculous as black people saying only they are allowed to use the N-word.
Sometimes it slips out, "Oh my god, that lamp is so gay!" Okay, fine, that can be forgiven. "You fucking gay bastard!" ... not so easily forgiven. See the difference?
Credit me if you use outside of DA. 's are always good! Don't steal or redistribute my work as your own! Enjoy!
It does, it does indeed. I just twitch and get really irritated when I hear someone use "fag" and "gay" as an insult. It's practically the same as using "retarded."
And for those of you that say "it's just words" what if I insulted you with some word about your lifestyle? You'd be offended too, wouldn't you?
People that use "gay," "fag," and anything else in a derogatory way needs to grow up.

Amen. Sadly I think I'm one of few people in my school who don't ever use that. I prefer saying "suck" in its place, and if some idiot grown-up has a problem with "suck" then I'll use something else like "bites".

I 100% agree, I don't know why but it gets under my skin when people say that. Half the time I get replies "you are too sensitive" or "it means happy too!" (I highly doubt when they call something gay they are saying 'that's so happy!'
It always makes people come off as ignorant in my opinion, being gay is not a bad thing so why use it as an insult?
if you use a term with derogatory means, it's an insult. It doesn't matter what the term is. In our society, gay has been widely used as one, that's why people are upset. It has a history of negative connotations stringed with it.
I admittedly have used the term, and like you, me, and many others, we don't mean harm, but it's usually used to degrade someone or something. Rarely is it used as a compliment.
Yeah I know that, I was just trying to make a now seemingly bad joke about it . I hate when people (usually male) say on youtube or whatever: This video so gay...most of the time I respond: How is it gay?

Sometimes I'll replace it with "straight" just because.

I used to say gay a lot when I was younger. But in my defence, I was never really certain WHAT gay was! I was a pretty innocent kid in some regards.
